Caruso Mendelsohn Films is an independent film production company founded by partners Rocco Caruso and Eric Mendelsohn. Based in New York City, CMF produces both feature-length films and shorts.
Rocco Caruso and Eric Mendelsohn began making films while students at the State University of New York/Purchase. Their first short, Through an Open Window” premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 1992 and was later selected to be the opening film in Un Certain Regard at the 1992 Cannes Film Festival. Their first feature film, “Judy Berlin” also premiered at Sundance (1999) where it won the Best Director Award. In May of 1999, “Judy Berlin” was presented as an Official Selection of the Cannes Film Festival in Un Certain Regard.
